british justice over the french-speaking canadians

this old government building in montreal, quebec is a monument to british justice system imposed among french-speaking canadians for so many decades. from the british point of view, their laws were just. from the french point of view, they were unjust. it's interesting how the powerful and the powerless look at the same set of laws.

walking through the streets of monteal, quebec is like stepping into the historical past of french canada.
